Top 5 Comedy Shows to Binge Watch

Image
Binge watching is not a difficult thing to do these days, believe me, so why not make a list of the shows that are particularly easy to binge on? I think it’s very easy to binge watch anything now, but picking your next endeavour can be difficult. I think that there are certain things to look for before making that decision; storylines that don’t get boring, a cast that you can fall in love with, and characters that take you on a journey with them. Because there are so many different shows, and many different genres to delve into, I settled on just choosing the comedies I thought would be perfect for binge watching. It was a struggle to narrow it down, but these shows are the comedies that I think are easy to get swept up in, easy to watch and incredibly easy binge on (and, as always, some of my favourite gifs to go along with them).  5. The IT Crowd  Set in the offices of Reynholm Industries, The IT Crowd revolves around the three members of the IT department; ...

Fictional Deaths I Will Never Recover From

Image
There are a lot to choose from, given that I get attached to characters rather quickly, and this was incredibly difficult to write because a) I am very emotional when it comes to my fictional characters, b) I had to pause to cry in between and c) I had a lot more than this on my list and it took some narrowing down. These are the ones I know I’ll never recover from… 10.  Fili and Kili – The Hobbit This should not have gotten to me as much as it did. This book and series of films contained lots of action and even lots of death towards the end and even though I knew it was coming, watching them die hurt. A lot. The whole sequence of events; to make Kili and Thorin watch as Fili is suspended over the rocky ruins of Ravenhill, impaled and then brutally dropped to the ground before the remaining members of his family. Kili, after seeing his brother so violently murdered, attacks the orcs in rage and eventually  faces Bolg; the fight is rough but he ultimately saves Ta...

My Top 5 TV Shows That Ended Badly

Image
It’s unfortunate, but it does happen, and more often than we’d like. I think that if a show has to end, it either needs to be in a ridiculously happy way, or with such conviction that this is the right course of action that it’s perfect no matter what. These are the shows that ended badly for me, and while some of them weren’t actually awful , they are the shows that I felt should have been resolved differently or at least given the option to. *spoilers ahead* 5.   Veronica Mars (2004-2007) First of all, how could they? A show based on a teenage private eye sounds quite cheesy nowadays, but the seriousness of the plots, coupled with often deeply troubled characters and wit that anyone would be proud of, Veronica Mars is a show to be remembered. Though the first two seasons were well received, the third seemed to be missing something; maybe the transition from high school to college was too much for some people? Maybe it was due to bringing new characters in, wh...

YA Novels That Should Be TV Shows

Image
Last time, I wrote about TV shows that were inspired by and adapted from books and afterwards I realised that there are many books out there that deserve the same; I can’t count the times I’ve finished a book and thought about how perfect it would be to sit and watch as these characters lived out their lives on screen too. This list isn’t particularly long, nor is it up to date, as I can’t even remember the last time I picked up a book to read for pleasure, but here is a list of novels that I think would make excellent television shows, and why… 1.        The Fallen Series by Lauren Kate 17 year old Lucinda “Luce” Price is sent to Sword & Cross reform school, a fate she receives after being accused of murdering a boy. Missing her best friend, her parents, and her mobile phone, Luce doesn’t have the best start to her new school; she is surrounded by new people, doesn’t know who to trust and feels a deep connection with Daniel, a gorgeous, ...

My Top 10 TV Adaptations of Books…

Image
So, there aren’t a vast majority of TV shows that are adapted from books, and even less that I’ve heard of or seen, but when I was thinking about it I made a list; there weren’t that many, and some of them are truly awful, so I thought I’d let people know about the ones that are actually good and deserve to be watched, here it goes… 10. Pretty Little Liars Based on the book series of the same name by Sara Shepard the show focuses on a group of friends who are dealing with the loss of one of their own, a mysteriously creepy stalker named ‘A’, and incredibly bumpy relationships. While the show isn’t perfect, the acting and script writing are very well done, and the crazy mishaps of Rosewood somehow seem normal to us by now; luckily for fans, the show doesn’t stick too close to the books – or we’d be in for some very strange twists and relationship mix-ups.  Though the show does seem to be getting a little longwinded nowadays, Pretty Little Liars is a whirlwind of crazy ...
